Israel/Jordan June Tour – What to Expect
June in Israel is typically hot and dry, with daytime temperatures often ranging from the mid-80s to mid-90s°F, especially in Jerusalem and the Jordan Valley. Light, breathable clothing is recommended, along with modest attire for holy sites, comfortable walking shoes for daily sightseeing and Saturday church visits, and a swimsuit and water shoes for the Dead Sea.
Israel/Jordan October Tour – What to Expect
October in Israel brings warm days and cooler evenings, with daytime temperatures generally in the 70s to low-80s°F and more comfortable sightseeing conditions. Casual, comfortable clothing works well for most days, with modest dress required at certain holy sites, sturdy walking shoes for sightseeing and Saturday church visits, and a swimsuit and water shoes for the Dead Sea.
U.S. passport holders do not need a traditional visa for tourism to Israel, but must obtain an ETA-IL (Electronic Travel Authorization for Israel) before departure. ETA-IL is a quick online application linked to your passport, typically approved within days, and we’ll provide guidance as part of your tour preparation.
Visas for Jordan will be handled by Pioneer Tours.
Most places accept and often prefer U.S. dollars, and Visa and MasterCard are widely accepted. Some locations also accept American Express, but Discover is generally not accepted.
Most hotels provide hairdryers, but if you bring your own, note that Israel uses 220V AC electricity, so a voltage converter and plug adapter will be required. Cell phones and most modern electronics typically only need a plug adapter, and we recommend investing in a quality one, as opportunities to purchase adapters may be limited until reaching Jerusalem.
Most of the areas we visit in Israel have great coverage; however, coverage in Jordan is limited. If you plan to use your phone in these countries, check with your cell phone provider to find out options for international calling plans or instructions for how to enable WIFI calling. This should be set up and ready before leaving the U.S.
